The University of Batangas (formerly known as Western Philippine College) was founded on April 28, 1946. It is situated at the heart of Batangas City. The Western Philippine Colleges saw its first day classes on April 28, 1947 in a small rented house on Rizal Avenue with a roster of 48 students. The first courses offered were Education, Liberal Arts and Commerce.

At present, the Business Administration Program enjoys a Level IV status, Level III status for Accountancy and Level II for International Hospitality Management as accredited by Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA); an evidence of the program’s continuous improvement in providing quality educational service. The accredited status of the university is a commitment to stakeholders that they will receive education that is a balance between high academic quality and professional relevance through a well-integrated program of activities and processes that satisfies the needs of the corporate world. It signified that the institution has the essential and desirable features of quality professional education.

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program of the University of Batangas was awarded by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as the Center of Development in Business Education and recognized as the Delivering Higher Educational Institution (DHEI) for Business Analytics. The college continues to commit itself in providing quality degree programs designed to train students to become globally competitive business leaders and professionals and producing quality graduates who have grown to hold successful positions in all aspects of society not only in Batangas but in the country and the rest of the world.

The University of Batangas, formerly known as Western Philippine College, traces its roots back to its establishment on April 28, 1946. Nestled in the heart of Batangas City, it has been a pillar of education in the region.

The Western Philippine Colleges commenced its first day of classes on April 28, 1947, in a modest rented house on Rizal Avenue, welcoming an initial class of 48 students. The institution’s inaugural courses included Education, Liberal Arts, and Commerce.

In the present day, the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration stands as a testament to excellence, holding a Level IV status. Additionally, it boasts a Level III status for Accountancy and Level II for International Hospitality Management, as accredited by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA). These accreditations underscore the program’s unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality education.

Objectives


The College aims to:

– Provide globally competitive curricular programs in various business and hospitality discipline;
– Produce highly employable graduates who are competent in their chosen field of specialization;
– Increase faculty and student engagement in scholarly research activities for the utilization of the community;
– Develop 21st century skills through instructional technologies and state of the art facilities; and
– Implement community extension projects, programs and activities which are beneficial to the marginalized people.
