The University of Batangas (UB) Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) and the Association of Student Assistants (ASSA) led A Day of Hope: Bringing Smiles to Cancer Warrior Kids on May 14, 2025, in partnership with the Cancer Warriors – Batangas Chapter.
The outreach program aimed to uplift young cancer patients emotionally and socially while inspiring student volunteers to embrace empathy and service. Storybook reading sessions, interactive games, and art activities allowed the children to express their dreams and creativity. The JPIA officers also brought them entertainment and laughter with an intermission number, while the gift-giving segment filled the venue with joy and gratitude. Each shared moment reflected the volunteers’ compassion and the children’s strength.
The event began with a prayer led by Ms. Joyce Anne Patron, followed by opening remarks from Mr. Antonio Aquino. Closing the event, Mr. Clieford Perez expressed appreciation to all who contributed to its success.
Aligned with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals), the initiative promoted wellness, equality, and collaboration through meaningful action.
Through this heartfelt outreach, JPIA and ASSA proved that simple acts of kindness can spark hope and healing. The children’s radiant smiles and the volunteers’ sense of fulfillment embodied the essence of compassion — showing that even small gestures can make a lasting difference.
