Officers from the University of Batangas (UB) Association of International Hospitality Management Students (AIHMS), in coordination with the Tourism program, actively guided new freshmen on August 4, 2025, helping them navigate the UB Batangas Campus on the first day of the 2025–2026 school year.

Many first-year students arrived unfamiliar with the campus, struggling to locate classrooms and sections. AIHMS officers promptly stepped in, providing clear directions and helpful information about College of Business Administration and Hospitality Management (CBAHM) facilities, including offices, laboratories, and function rooms. In several cases, officers personally escorted students to their destinations, helping them start their college journey with confidence.

The student leaders began their assistance at 7:00 AM. While originally scheduled in two shifts, the officers decided to work as a unified team, ensuring that more students were supported effectively and no one felt lost or overwhelmed.

For AIHMS officers, the activity offered a meaningful chance to balance academic responsibilities with leadership duties, strengthening teamwork, communication skills, and pride in serving the UB community.

This initiative also reflects the university’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by easing first-day stress, SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by reducing anxiety during the college transition, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by demonstrating strong collaboration among student organizations.

Through this welcoming effort, AIHMS showcased the power of student leadership, empathy, and community service in creating a smooth and supportive start for incoming UBians.
