The University of Batangas (UB) College of Business Administration and Hospitality Management (CBAHM) held a five-day educational tour in Boracay Island, Aklan, from October 15 to 19, 2025, giving students an immersive experience in the country’s leading tourism hub.

Faculty members and students from the BSIHM, BSTO, and BSHMCO programs joined the event, which aimed to strengthen classroom learning through practical exposure to hospitality and tourism operations.

Designed as an experiential learning opportunity, the activity deepened the students’ understanding of real-world industry practices. They observed professional operations, engaged with tourism practitioners, and participated in a seminar that highlighted service quality and professionalism—core elements of the hospitality and tourism sectors. Beyond learning, the activity fostered teamwork, discipline, and camaraderie, reflecting the values upheld by the University of Batangas.

The educational tour also aligned with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It supported SDG 4 (Quality Education) by connecting theoretical lessons to hands-on industry experiences and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by showcasing responsible employment and sustainable tourism practices. The trip further emphasized environmental awareness, contributing to SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 15 (Life on Land) through discussions on ecological protection and sustainable tourism management.

CBAHM organized the tour in collaboration with 2GO Travel, Southwest Tours, and Paradise Garden Resort, ensuring both educational and logistical success. Students not only witnessed how tourism supports local economies but they also learned the importance of ethical practices and environmental conservation in maintaining the beauty of destinations like Boracay.

By the end of the five-day journey, participants returned with enriched knowledge, stronger teamwork, and a deeper appreciation of their chosen fields. The experience reaffirmed CBAHM’s mission to mold competent, service-driven professionals ready to contribute to the ever-evolving world of hospitality and tourism.
