Chaired by Hon. Avior R. Rocafort, the session was held at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall and brought together key stakeholders from government, private schools, and local businesses to tackle issues concerning city traffic and mobility management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hearing, which commenced around 10:15 AM, first addressed a proposal from the Social Services Department regarding discounted privileges for senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) on cakes and pastries within the city. This initiative aims to align local policies with national mandates on welfare and promote greater inclusivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main focus of the day, however, was the 2024 Comprehensive Traffic Code of Lipa City. A key point of discussion revolved around the clamping fees for illegally parked vehicles. Representatives from the Traffic Management Department (TMD) and City Public Order and Safety (CPOS) clarified the fees: \u20b11,000 for cars and \u20b1500 for motorcycles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Operational concerns were also highlighted, particularly issues near the University of Batangas Lipa City. The TMD and CPOS reported a recurring problem with violators who are residents along Leviste Road lacking designated parking spaces, consequently obstructing the roadway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hearing concluded at approximately 11:25 AM after a productive session covering both social welfare and traffic governance matters.
