The agreement signifies a strategic partnership to establish a Job Placement Office (JPO) within the university, aimed at strengthening student employability and aligning education with labor market demands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ceremony was graced by University President Lily Marlene J. Hernandez, who emphasized the significance of the partnership as University of Batangas gear up for its 80th founding anniversary. <em>\u201cThis partnership stands as a testament to our lifelong mission to impart wisdom to our students, empower professionals, and serve our community. For nearly eight decades, UB has remained committed to producing graduates who are competent and globally competitive. With DOLE&#8217;s partnership, we can amplify this mission by aligning the quality of education we provide with labor market demands, fostering stronger industry-academic linkages, and enhancing the employability of our students and even our alumni.\u201d <\/em>she remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DOLE Region IV-A Assistant Regional Director Mr. Nicanor V. Bon highlighted the role of the JPO in bridging education and employment. <em>\u201cThis partnership marks a meaningful step forward in advancing the employability and career readiness of UBLC students. Through the JPO, learners will gain access to career counseling, industry linkages, and job opportunities that will ease their transition from classroom to career,\u201d<\/em> he stated<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Representing UBLC\u2019s Student Affairs and External Programs Office, Mrs. Milette L. De Torres outlined the objectives of the partnership, which include employment facilitation, career guidance, job fairs, pre-employment seminars, and access to DOLE\u2019s labor market information systems. <em>\u201cThis collaboration empowers Filipino youth through enhanced access to meaningful employment, ensuring better alignment between education and the labor market,\u201d <\/em>she affirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In attendance from University of Batangas were Mr. Vincent M. Alcantara, SAEP Officer of UB Batangas City, while DOLE representatives included Ms. Predelma M. Tan, Director II of DOLE Batangas Provincial Office; Mr. Mark Joseph V. Trinos, PESO Manager, City Government of Lipa; and Ms. April Rose N. Magpantay, Provincial Employment Unit Head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The MOU underscores shared responsibilities between UBLC and DOLE. UBLC SAEP will establish and manage the JPO, organize employment-related activities, and track graduate employment outcomes, while DOLE will provide technical assistance, capacity-building, and integration of UBLC into regional and national employment facilitation programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The signing ceremony highlighted both institutions\u2019 commitment to building stronger academic-industry-government linkages and advancing workforce readiness in the CALABARZON region.
