Tipakan, Lipa City, Batangas. The seminar aimed to provide a venue for enhancing the understanding of fundamental knowledge in coffee seed planting and nurturing coffee plants, with a particular focus on sustaining and revitalizing the iconic Kapeng Barako in Batangas province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UBLC students, CES Coordinators, and participants from the partner Barangay Bulacnin actively took part in the training, which focused on the preservation and advancement of Kapeng Barako. The discussions and demonstrations emphasized its vital role in sustaining local culture, strengthening the economy, and shaping the future of coffee farming in Batangas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The activity featured lectures, hands-on demonstrations, and interactive discussions with local coffee farmers, allowing participants to deepen their appreciation of the traditional coffee heritage while acquiring practical skills in seed planting, nursery management, and plant care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These research and community extension initiatives underscored the role of UBLC faculty, employees, and students in contributing to the preservation and advancement of local coffee culture while promoting sustainable practices in agriculture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The seminar also highlighted UBLC CES\u2019s continuing efforts to empower communities through research-based extension programs and partnerships.
