Faculty members of the University of Batangas Lipa City (UBLC) College of Management and Tourism successfully completed the Wadhwani Ignite Faculty Development Program held through online sessions on July 29 and 30, 2025, and onsite training at Trattoria Lipe\u00f1a, UBLC campus, on July 31 and August 1, 2025. The program, conducted in partnership with the Wadhwani Foundation, aimed to equip educators with entrepreneurial teaching methodologies to better guide students in their innovation and startup journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ignite Faculty Development Program certified four UBLC CMT faculty members\u2014Ms. Jinky R. Asugui, Mr. Alfie V. Lindo, Ms. Jolly Z. Belgira, and Mr. Joshua Ramil D. Katigbak\u2014as Wadhwani Ignite Faculty. Two others, Mr. Joemar Kevin Roblo and Mr. Jose C. Maranan, were recognized as program completers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Throughout the four-day program, participants engaged in a mix of online lectures and onsite experiential learning activities. Sessions highlighted startup frameworks, market research strategies, pitching skills, and effective resource management. Faculty members were trained to mentor students in developing innovative ideas, crafting sustainable business models, and pursuing entrepreneurial ventures aligned with real-world industry needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Wadhwani Foundation, established in 2001 by Dr. Romesh Wadhwani, is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating job creation and enabling millions to achieve a dignified livelihood. Through its Wadhwani Ignite Program, the Foundation partners with higher education institutions worldwide to provide students and faculty with AI-powered learning tools, expert mentorship, and exposure to industry practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By training CMT faculty under the Wadhwani Ignite framework, the University strengthens its commitment to preparing students for entrepreneurial success and economic empowerment. This initiative supports UBLC\u2019s mission of nurturing purpose-driven graduates equipped with academic knowledge and with practical skills to thrive in an innovation-driven economy.
