Lipa City, Batangas – August 28, 2025. The University of Batangas Lipa City (UBLC) Student Government celebrated Buwan ng Wika 2025 on August 28, 2025, at the UBLC Gymnasium and other campus venues, carrying the theme “Wika ng Pagkakaisa, Sagisag ng Bansang Malaya.” The event aimed to underscore the importance of the Filipino language in promoting unity, freedom, and national identity.
To highlight the talents and cultural pride of UBLC students, the celebration featured a series of competitions, including the Debate Competition “Tagisan ng Talino: Labanan ng Diwa at Wika,” the Extemporaneous Speech, Photojournalism, and the Impromptu Film Contest themed “Celebrating Buwan ng Wika as a UBian.” The debate, held at the UBLC Gymnasium, served as the main attraction, while other contests were conducted in assigned locations across the campus.
UBLC SG President Jhunnel Jeric Macaraig expressed gratitude to the administration, faculty, and students for their participation. He emphasized that this institutional event is a celebration of the national language and a reminder of Filipino identity, history, and unity. He encouraged everyone to continue using, valuing, and promoting the Filipino language in all aspects of life. He also highlighted that the day’s activities and performances reflect the talent, creativity, and excellence of UBLC students, while underscoring that despite differences, all are united by a shared respect and love for the Filipino language.
Through this year’s celebration, the UBLC community reaffirmed its commitment to fostering unity, patriotism, and cultural pride anchored on the Filipino language.
