In a shared commitment to promoting mental health and emotional well-being, the University of Batangas Lipa Campus (UBLC), in collaboration with the Red Cross Youth (RCY), successfully conducted the Mental Health Seminar titled “From Surviving to Thriving: Turning College Challenges into Lifelong Resilience” on October 17, 2025. The initiative, spearheaded by the Research and Publications Office, formed part of the University’s continuing advocacy for holistic student development and psychosocial wellness.

The seminar served as a safe and empowering platform for students, faculty, and personnel to openly engage in conversations about resilience, stress management, and personal growth amid the challenges of college life. Guided by the theme “You are stronger than the moments that tried to break you. Keep choosing to show up, even when it’s hard,” the event highlighted the importance of mental health care, emotional stability, and the role of a supportive community in fostering resilience.

Through a combination of interactive discussions, reflective activities, and participatory learning, the seminar encouraged self-awareness, empathy, and mutual support among participants. The presence of Red Cross Youth representatives enriched the program with insights on emotional first aid, community care, and peer support, reinforcing the shared responsibility of maintaining mental wellness within and beyond the campus.

This initiative underscored UBLC’s ongoing dedication to nurturing both the academic and personal dimensions of its learners. Beyond intellectual excellence, the University continues to invest in programs that strengthen the emotional resilience and life skills of its students, ensuring that they are equipped not only for academic success but also for real-world challenges.

The event concluded on a hopeful note, as participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to reflect, connect, and recharge. The success of the seminar reflected the University’s steadfast advocacy for mental health, the Research and Publications Office’s commitment to impactful initiatives, and the Red Cross Youth’s mission to build compassionate, resilient communities. Together, they reaffirmed the message that growth comes not from avoiding adversity but from courageously facing and learning from it – turning survival into thriving.
