Lipa City, Batangas – October 6, 2025. The University of Batangas Lipa City (UBLC) has officially launched its 2025 World Mental Health Day Celebration on October 6, 2025, with a series of community-driven activities promoting the theme “Laugh your Hearts Out. Move with the Community. Celebrate Life.”
The celebration opened with “SOUPport with Love: A Bowl of Care for UBian Students” on the first day of the Midterm Examinations, where hot soup was distributed to the UB community. The initiative aimed to nourish both body and mind by emphasizing the importance of starting the day with a healthy breakfast, especially during academic examinations.
On October 10, UBLC will highlight the celebration with the theme “Let’s Color the World Blue”, a day dedicated to wearing blue, lighting up blue, and spreading hope for mental health. In solidarity with the global observance of World Mental Health Day, the UBLC facade will be illuminated in blue light as a symbol of awareness and support. Students and employees are encouraged to wear blue shirts in the morning, while the “Blue Box of Hope” will be placed at the Building A lobby for messages of encouragement. Complementing these activities, the “Chocolate for Guidance” distribution will remind the UB community that even the simplest acts of kindness can inspire hope, self-care, and collective well-being.
Furthering the commitment to holistic wellness, UBLC will host “Zumba Your Blues Away” on October 17 at the UBLC Gymnasium. In collaboration with the Student Affairs and Services Division, UBian parents, employees, and faculty members, the activity highlights the role of physical fitness in supporting mental well-being and encouraging community engagement.
The university will also launch “Crafting Wellness Session: A Therapeutic Art Activity” on October 23 and 30. Open to students, employees, and faculty, this activity provides a creative outlet for stress relief, self-expression, and emotional balance through the power of art.
Concluding the celebration, the Counseling and Psychological Wellness Center will hold the “Laugh Your Hearts Out: 2nd UB Mental Wellness Summit” on November 24, featuring Pinoy Laughter Yoga. This culminating event underscores laughter as a fun, healthy, and culturally engaging way to relieve stress and strengthen mental wellness.
The series of activities reflects UBLC’s advocacy of prioritizing mental health in meaningful yet accessible ways. By nourishing, inspiring, and engaging the community through food, color, movement, art, and laughter, the university reinforces that mental health is a shared responsibility and that life is always worth celebrating.
