Kendari, Indonesia – October 23, 2025. In a significant stride toward strengthening its international academic linkages, the College of Education, Arts, and Sciences (CEAS) of the University of Batangas Lipa City (UBLC), under the leadership of Dr. Minerva Apita-Chavez, formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Universitas Halu Oleo (UHO) of Kendari, Indonesia on October 23, 2025. The signing was held alongside an academic conference highlighting cross-cultural collaboration, global learning, and shared educational advancement between the two institutions.
The newly forged partnership marks a major milestone in UBLC’s internationalization efforts and its ongoing pursuit of academic excellence through meaningful global linkages. The agreements lay the groundwork for faculty and student exchanges, joint research initiatives, academic conferences, and cultural collaboration activities, all aimed at enriching the learning experience and research opportunities for both universities.
During the event, Dr. Minerva Apita-Chavez, joined by CEAS faculty representatives, led the UBLC delegation and was warmly received by UHO officials and faculty members. The ceremony featured formal discussions on the scope of collaboration, focusing on shared academic priorities such as innovation, global education, and sustainable development – areas aligned with both institutions’ missions to empower learners for international engagement.
Following the signing, a joint academic conference was convened, where representatives from UBLC and UHO presented their institutional research directions, curriculum frameworks, and best practices in teaching and program development.
