Lipa City, Batangas — August 15, 2025. The University of Batangas Lipa City (UBLC) formally kicked off the new academic year with a day-long celebration anchored on its core values of Spirit, Intellect, and Purpose, highlighting Faith in God, Service to Fellowmen, and Love of Wisdom.
Earlier in the morning, the UBLC community gathered for a Holy Mass at the Multipurpose Hall, presided over by Rev. Fr. Emiliano Gutierrez Jr., CRM, with the support of the UBLC Campus Ministry. The celebration coincided with the Feast of the Assumption of Mary and also served as a Memorial Mass for the 93rd Birth Anniversary of the late former University President, Dr. Abelardo B. Perez. The thanksgiving mass highlighted the importance of faith in God and provided a meaningful and prayerful start to the academic year.
Following the Holy Mass, the UBian community gathered at the UBLC Gymnasium for the second year of Punla Para sa Kalikasan, led by University President Lily Marlene J. Hernandez, Chairman of the Board of Regents Atty. Jesus V. Mayo, and other administrators, faculty, staff, and students.
Seeds were planted for the Envi-Campus Seedling Nursery, symbolizing growth, renewal, and UBLC’s commitment to environmental responsibility. The initiative also highlighted the university’s support for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Climate Action, Life on Land, and Sustainable Cities and Communities.
Through this program, UBLC reaffirmed its advocacy for sustainability while fostering a culture of collective responsibility toward building a greener and more resilient future.
Capping the day’s activities, UBLC showcased its dedication to Love of Wisdom through a photography exhibit outside the Learning Resource Center. Featuring works from the Arts and Camera Club (High School), UBLC Camera Club, and UB Studio 1946 (College), the exhibit highlighted the creative lens of UBians while underscoring the institution’s commitment to fostering knowledge, academic excellence, and appreciation of the arts.
The series of events reflected UBLC’s mission to nurture holistic growth among its community members, rooted in spirit, intellect, and purpose, as it begins another year of academic pursuits and shared purpose.
