Program Educational Objectives

Bachelor of Science in Architecture program aims to develop graduates with the following outcomes:

  • ‣ Perform standard competencies in accordance with the scope of global and local practice of architecture.
  • ‣ Show traits of professionalism, sense of responsibility, equality and patriotism.
  • ‣ Receptiveness to new ideas and knowledge through scientific research
  • ‣ Direct and focus the thrust of architecture education to the needs and demands of society and its integration into the social, economic, cultural and environmental aspects of nation building.
  • ‣ Instill understanding of the basic philosophy and fundamental principles of the multi-dimensional aspects of architecture, and the direct relationship between man and his environment.

The minimum standards for the BS Architecture program are expressed in the following minimum set of learning outcomes:
Common to all programs in all types of school

  • ‣ to keep abreast with the developments in the field of architecture practice the ability
  • ‣ to effectively communicate orally and in writing using both English and Filipino the ability
  • ‣ to work effectively and independently in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
  • ‣ a recognition of professional, social, and ethical responsibility
Common to the discipline
  • ‣ Creation of architectural solutions by applying knowledge in history, theory, planning, building technology and utilities, structural concepts and professional practice.
  • ‣ Use of concepts and principles from specialized fields and allied disciplines into various architectural problems.
  • ‣ Preparation of contract documents, technical reports and other legal documents used in architectural practice adhering to applicable laws, standards and regulations.
  • ‣ Interpretation and application of relevant laws, codes, charters and standards of architecture and the build environment.
  • ‣ Application of research methods to address architectural problems.
  • ‣ Use of various information and communication technology (ICT) media for architectural solutions, presentation, and techniques in design and construction.
  • ‣ Acquisition of entrepreneurial and business acumen relevant to Architecture practice.
  • ‣ Involvement in the management of the construction works and building administration.
Common to a horizontal type as defined in CMO No. 46 s. 2012
  • ‣ For professional institutions: a service orientation in one’s profession
  • ‣ For colleges: an ability to participate in various types of employment, development activities, and public discourses particularly in response to the needs of the community.
  • ‣ For universities: an ability to participate in the generation of new knowledge such as pioneering concepts and ideas of site and building designs beyond the regular physical and location boundaries and contexts.
Program Educational Objectives

Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering aims to provide graduates with:

  • ‣ Solid foundation in the principles and practices of basic engineering, mathematics and physical sciences,
  • ‣ Knowledge and understanding of essential facts, concepts, principles and theories relating to computer engineering,
  • ‣ System level perspective on the design of hardware and software for a computer system; and
  • ‣ Design experiences with one major project before graduation.

By the time of graduation, the students of the program shall have the ability to:

  • ‣ apply knowledge of mathematics and science to solve complex engineering problems
  • ‣ design and conduct experiments as well as to analyze and interpret data
  • ‣ design a system, component or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability and sustainability, in accordance with standards;
  • ‣ function on multidisciplinary teams
  • ‣ identify, formulate and solve complex engineering problems
  • ‣ understand professional and ethical responsibility
  • ‣ communicate effectively
  • ‣ broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental and societal context
  • ‣ recognize the need for and an ability to engage in life-long learning
  • ‣ be knowledgeable of contemporary issues
  • ‣ use techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice and
  • ‣ be knowledgeable and understand engineering and management principles as a member and leader in a team and to manage projects in multidisciplinary environments

Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering program aims to provide graduates to:

  • ‣ Develop a culture of excellence through crafting relevant IE curriculum aligned with 21st century learning and needs,
  • ‣ Integrate the University’s core values through the adoption of appropriate instructional and learning tools,
  • ‣ Become globally competitive IE professionals, and
  • ‣ Engage students in research activities, design and innovations that will foster transformative impact on the discipline and society.

Graduates of the programs must have:

  • ‣ Ability to apply knowledge of mathematics and science to solve complex industrial engineering problems
  • ‣ Ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data
  • ‣ Ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability, in accordance with standards
  • ‣ Ability to function on multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
  • ‣ Ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex industrial engineering problems
  • ‣ Understanding of professional and ethical responsibility
  • ‣ Ability to communicate effectively
  • ‣ Broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context

Bachelor of Science in Interior Design (BSID) is a four-year degree program designed to teach students design concepts and methods of building interiors. It covers a wide range of professional practices such as interior design, furniture, and accessories design, visual merchandising, production design, exhibition design, interior landscaping design, and lighting design.

Program Educational Objectives

Bachelor of Science in Interior Design program aims to provide graduates to:

  • ‣Demonstrate critical thinking of the principles, philosophies and theoretical frameworks of the discipline;
  • ‣ Develop humanistic values and ethics of the interior design discipline in relation to health, safety, environment and public welfare issues that confront the discipline;
  • ‣ Respond to the needs and demands of society and its integration into the social, economic, cultural and environmental aspects of nation building for sustainable development;
  • ‣ Apply knowledge and skills that will enable them to successfully respond to various types of assessments (including professional licensure and certifications); and
  • ‣ Confidently maintain a commitment to good corporate citizenship, social responsibility and ethical practice in performing functions as an interior designer.

Graduates of the programs must have:
Identify, formulate, analyze, and solve interior design problems for various reasons which include, among others, the following:

  • ‣ To meet national standards;
  • ‣ To comply with global standards
  • ‣ To enhance and protect the welfare, safety and health of the users of space;
  • ‣ To address climate change, environmental hazards, and urban pollution.
  • ‣ Synthesize earlier knowledge from prerequisite courses for application in current and future research learning settings.
  • ‣ Formulate and implement design concepts, strategies and/or approaches using the latest technologies in interior design.
  • ‣ Use the techniques, skills, and modern interior design tools, gadgets, machines and equipment necessary for professional practice
  • ‣ Integrates theories, current issues, and design philosophies

Demonstrate knowledge of the following subject areas:

  • ‣ Interior design
  • ‣ Interior construction and utilities;
  • ‣ Color Theory
  • ‣ Furniture design and construction
  • ‣ History of Arts and Interior Design
  • ‣ Materials of design and decoration;

  • ‣ Effectively function and assimilate within a collaborative framework in multi-disciplinary teams and task forces
  • ‣ Convey and communicate effectively through visual, oral, written, and virtual communications, whether interpersonally, through the mass media, or through electronic means or advances ICT technologies.
  • ‣ Understand, apply, and practice ethical professional values and responsibility

‣ Confidently perform designs according to interior design global standards

  • ‣ Design and conduct surveys, interviews, analyze and interpret data to meet desired needs of clients in interior design projects.
  • ‣ Recognize the need to engage in lifelong learning
  • ‣ Exhibit sensitivity to cultural, social, and environmental issues and advocacies
