The University of Batangas Lipa City (UBLC), through the College of Management and Tourism and the Association of Future Business Leaders and Entrepreneurs (AFBE), successfully hosted the BPO Seminar 2025 on November 17, 2025, at the UBLC Tiered Hall. The event aimed to strengthen industry-academe collaboration and equip students with relevant knowledge about the rapidly evolving business process outsourcing (BPO) sector.

The seminar featured Mr. John Corella, Senior Manager of TaskUs Atlantis, who served as the keynote resource speaker. In his presentation, Mr. Corella discussed the current landscape of the BPO industry, highlighting emerging trends, technological advancements, and the growing demand for skilled professionals in Batangas and beyond. He emphasized the sector’s expanding role in digital operations and customer experience solutions, noting that adaptability, communication, and technical proficiency remain essential competencies for future industry entrants.

Organized as part of AFBE’s continuing initiatives to enhance student competency and exposure to real-world business environments, the event provided attendees with valuable insights into potential career pathways within the BPO sector. Students also gained a clearer understanding of the employment opportunities available in the region, as well as the expectations and standards upheld by leading companies such as TaskUs.

The seminar served as a platform for bridging classroom learning with practical industry knowledge, reinforcing UBLC’s commitment to preparing its learners for professional growth and global competitiveness. By fostering strong partnerships with industry leaders, the College of Management and Tourism continues to advance its mission of developing career-ready graduates equipped with relevant skills and an informed perspective on emerging business landscapes.

Through this initiative, UBLC’s AFBE further demonstrated their dedication to delivering quality academic and co-curricular programs that support student readiness for the dynamic workforce and contribute meaningfully to the economic progress of the Batangas community and beyond.

In doing so, UBLC exemplifies a steadfast commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting inclusive, equitable, and high-quality learning opportunities; SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by preparing students to enter thriving and responsible employment sectors; and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by cultivating robust industry-academe collaborations that drive innovation, skill development, and sustainable socio-economic impact on local and regional scales.
