In pursuit of fostering an inclusive and compassionate learning environment, the University of Batangas Counseling and Psychological Wellness Center (CoPWell) organized a seminar titled “Meeting You in the Eye: How to Deal with Students Struggling with Special Needs” on January 24, 2025, at the Multipurpose Hall, Building C, University of Batangas Lipa City Campus.

The seminar gathered teachers and parents to enhance their understanding of students facing emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. Through this initiative, CoPWell aimed to equip participants with practical strategies and psychological insights to better support students with diverse needs, both in academic settings and at home.

Led by trained professionals and mental health advocates, the session provided an engaging platform to discuss key approaches in fostering empathy, patience, and adaptability in handling students who require specialized attention. The discussions emphasized the importance of early intervention, effective communication, and collaborative efforts between educators and parents in ensuring that no learner is left behind.

The seminar also underscored the University’s continuing commitment to mental health awareness and inclusive education. By promoting understanding and acceptance, CoPWell reinforced the core values of compassion and excellence that define the UBian community.

This initiative is part of CoPWell’s ongoing advocacy to promote mental well-being and emotional resilience within the University. Through regular seminars, workshops, and outreach programs, CoPWell remains steadfast in its mission to nurture a supportive academic environment where every learner is seen, heard, and understood.
