UBLC triumphs at UFTE’s 17th Annual Tourism and Hospitality Congress and Skills Olympic

Bonifacio Global City, Taguig – October 3, 2025. The University of Batangas Lipa City (UBLC) College of Management and Tourism (CMT) earned national recognition after its students achieved remarkable success at the 17th Annual Tourism and Hospitality Congress and Skills Olympic organized by the Union of Filipino Tourism Educators, Inc. (UFTE) on October 2–3, 2025, at Treston International College in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

Out of 15 participating schools nationwide, UBLC secured the 1st place in the S16 Travel Vlog Category through the outstanding creativity and presentation skills of Vince Lean Hernandez and Manuel Delos Reyes, under the mentorship of Mrs. Ma. Carolina R. Martinez. The team’s innovative storytelling and production quality earned them top recognition among a competitive field of student content creators from tourism and hospitality programs across the country.

Further demonstrating UBLC’s competitive spirit, Fiona Vicencio and Trisha Araneta achieved 8th place among 39 participating teams in the S12 Inflight Safety Demonstration and Emergency Response Category, with Jam Anne Beraquit and Venice de Chavez serving as alternates, under the guidance of Mr. Joshua Ramil D. Katigbak. Their performance showcased the students’ professionalism and preparedness in handling safety protocols and passenger service simulations.

UBLC also proudly participated in other categories, including the S1 Quiz Bee Competition represented by Dave Ahron Roxas and Wendy Alacarsada, with alternates Ayra Joy Borsoto and Jaira Ordanza, coached by Ms. Kim Roxas; and the S7 Poster and Slogan Making Competition, where Nick Wilson Magpantay and Trisha Malabanan, with alternate Stephanie Sayas, exhibited their creativity under the mentorship of Mrs. Martinez and Mr. Katigbak.

The UFTE Annual Tourism and Hospitality Congress and Skills Olympic serves as a prestigious platform that brings together future industry professionals to showcase their talents, creativity, and technical skills through various academic and practical competitions. UBLC’s accomplishments in the event reaffirm the university’s commitment to excellence and holistic training in the fields of tourism and hospitality management.
