Lipa City, Batangas – October 1, 2025. The 2025 Secondary District Sportsfest officially opened on October 1, 2025, at the Claro M. Recto Event Center, marking a historic moment as both public and private secondary schools in Lipa City competed together for the first time in the annual sports festival.
With the theme “Breaking Limits, Building Unity: Championship Excellence and Sportsmanship Among Public and Private Secondary Schools,” the event gathered student-athletes, school officials, and community leaders to celebrate unity, excellence, and camaraderie in sports. The opening was led by Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Ronaldo Ramilo Victoria Gazo, alongside officials from the Department of Education Lipa City and administrators of private schools.
In his inspirational message, Dr. Gazo encouraged the athletes to strive beyond competition, stating: “Don’t get the biggest slice of the pie. Instead, make the pie bigger. The pie is our achievement – for ourselves, for our schools, and for the whole division of Lipa.” His words highlighted the importance of collective growth, sportsmanship, and shared victory among participating schools.
The City Government of Lipa, through Mayor Eric B. Africa, also expressed support for the district meet, extending his congratulations to DepEd Lipa and the schools that took part in this milestone event.
The Sportsfest promises days of intense competition as athletes showcase their talent, determination, and teamwork across various sporting events. With public and private secondary schools finally competing side by side, the 2025 edition is set to be a landmark celebration of athletic spirit and unity in Lipa City.
