Lipa City, Batangas – September 29, 2025. The College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) of the University of Batangas Lipa City (UBLC) formally recognized its 4th-year Criminology students during the 4th Epaulette Ceremony, “Pinning and Donning of Ranks: A Milestone of Commitment Towards Duty and Integrity,” held on September 29, 2025, at the UBLC Gymnasium.
The ceremony was graced by University President Lily Marlene J. Hernandez-Bohn, who delivered the welcome remarks, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Aurora P. Tolentino, who gave an inspirational message, and CCJE Dean Dr. Edward V. Teredaño, who highlighted the significance of the milestone for the interns. Also present were Dr. Glenn R. Aguila, Program Chair of BS Criminology, Ms. Ma. Raissa Rani S. Mercado-Beron, Internship Officer, and Mr. Jobert M. Legaspi, Assistant InternshipOfficer.
Serving as Guest of Honor and Speaker, PCol Rodel A. Pastor from Philippine National Police Southern Police District inspired the honorees through his address, emphasizing the values of discipline, leadership, and integrity as they transition into their internship phase. Parents of the interns were also in attendance, witnessing this milestone moment.
The Epaulette Ceremony, one of CCJE’s proudest traditions, symbolizes the readiness of criminology interns to embrace greater responsibilities as future law enforcers. The Pinning and Donning of Ranks signified the students’ progression toward their final academic stage, instilling a deeper sense of commitment to their duties.
Highlights of the program included the entrance of the criminology interns, publication of orders, and the Pinning and Donning of Ranks led by university officials and parents. A Pass and Review and an intermission number featuring the Silent Drill Company of Batch Sinagtala 2026 added prestige to the occasion.
The Epaulette Ceremony is held annually alongside the Ring Hop Ceremony, which follows after the internship program. While the Epaulette marks the interns’ readiness, the Ring Hop represents the culmination of their journey and their transition into the professional field of criminal justice.
This year’s ceremony stands as a milestone for Batch Sinagtala 2026, and for the CCJE as a whole – serving as an inspiration for younger criminology students and aspiring to be part of the UB community to pursue excellence, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to their chosen path.
