Lipa City, Batangas – August 6, 2025. Five faculty members from the University of Batangas Lipa City (UBLC) successfully completed the Wadhwani Ignite Faculty Development Program facilitated by the Wadhwani Foundation and the UBLC Center of Business Innovation from July 29 to August 6, 2025. This second batch of completers further strengthens UBLC’s pool of trained faculty who can guide students in entrepreneurial education and innovation-driven learning.
The faculty completers are Dr. Joan M. Villanueva, Dr. Annabelle B. Magsino, Engr. Aeronn Edgar B. Magsino, Engr. Paul Richard Cuarez, and Engr. Nica Cueto. Their completion marks the continued expansion of UBLC’s academic readiness to integrate entrepreneurial frameworks and experiential learning into the curriculum.
Over the course of the training, participants engaged in online and onsite sessions that covered startup development, pitching, market research, and the design of sustainable business models. Guided by experts from the Wadhwani Foundation, the program emphasized hands-on learning and practical application, ensuring that faculty members are well-prepared to mentor students in ideation, execution, and market validation.
This new batch of completers follows the first group of UBLC faculty members who concluded their training earlier this year, demonstrating the University’s commitment to sustaining momentum in entrepreneurship-focused faculty development. By equipping more educators with the tools and methodologies of the Wadhwani Ignite Program, UBLC is actively creating an ecosystem that supports innovation, student startups, and industry collaboration.
The Wadhwani Foundation, a global nonprofit founded by Dr. Romesh Wadhwani in 2001, has been at the forefront of job creation and skill development across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Its Wadhwani Ignite Program is designed to cultivate entrepreneurial skills among students and educators, combining AI-powered learning platforms, mentorship, and expert guidance to foster economic empowerment.
The successful completion of the program by UBLC’s CENAR faculty reaffirms the University’s dedication to producing graduates who are academically excellent, innovative and industry-ready. Moving forward, these faculty members will play a vital role in embedding entrepreneurial mindsets in their students, advancing UBLC’s mission of academic excellence, service, and purpose.
