A wave of calm and compassion swept through the University of Batangas (UB) on October 10, 2023, as students, teachers, and staff gathered to mark World Mental Health Day.

Guided by the Counseling and Psychological Wellness (CoPWell) Center, the celebration carried the theme “Mental Health is a Universal Human Right” and encouraged everyone to #LightUpBlue in solidarity with mental health awareness.

The university community responded with enthusiasm—hallways, classrooms, and open spaces gleamed with shades of blue as UBians proudly wore blue-themed outfits to signify support for mental wellness. Inside the CoPWell Center, visitors engaged in simple yet meaningful wellness activities designed to relax the mind and uplift the spirit. Each activity reinforced the message that caring for one’s mental health is both a personal responsibility and a collective commitment.

Beyond wearing blue, participants embraced the deeper essence of the day: fostering empathy, breaking stigma, and acknowledging that every individual deserves access to mental health support. The celebration became a reminder that true wellness extends beyond physical health—it includes the strength and peace found within.
