The University of Batangas (UB) hosted the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to form the Consortium of Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) in Batangas on January 21, 2026, at the Patio Caf\u00e9, Jesus Arguelles Hall, UB Batangas City Campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event brought together school leaders from partner institutions to strengthen<\/p>\n\n\n\n
teacher education through cooperation in research, faculty and student development, and sharing of resources. The consortium aims to build strong partnerships and create a supportive network that promotes quality education and community development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The program began with an invocation and the National Anthem, followed by a welcome message from Dr. Aurora P. Tolentino, Vice President for Academic Affairs. UB President Lily Marlene J. Hernandez-Bohn delivered the inspirational message, emphasizing UB\u2019s leadership in bringing schools together for a shared goal of improving teacher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis consortium reflects a collective vision: that excellence in teacher education is best achieved not in isolation, but through collaboration and partnership.\u201d said UB President Hernandez-Bohn. She added, \u201cBy sharing expertise, resources, and field-tested experiences, we strengthen our institutions and, more importantly, enhance the preparation of future teachers who will serve learners in diverse and evolving educational contexts. Collaboration enables us to respond more effectively to the changing demands of education, research, and community engagement.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A special video message followed, delivered by Dr. Jennie V. Jocson, Executive Director V of the Teacher Education Council, highlighting the national importance of school collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Edward E. Babasa, Dean of the College of Education, presented the rationale of the consortium. He explained how the collaboration started and stressed the importance of working together in research, seminars, webinars, and other activities to support both teachers and pre-service teachers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The agreement was signed by the University of Batangas, Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas, St. Bridget College, Golden Gate Colleges, Westmead International School, Batangas State University \u2013 The National Engineering University, Sta. Teresa College, Alitagtag College, Inc., and Immaculate Conception College of Balayan, Inc. After the signing, the school heads shared their messages of commitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In her closing message, Dr. Abegayle Machelle M. Perez-Chua, Vice President for External Affairs, affirmed UB\u2019s commitment to sustaining the consortium through regular meetings, joint projects, and continued collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The formation of the Batangas TEI Consortium is an important step in strengthening teacher education in the province and preparing competent, compassionate, and globally competitive teachers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
