Home for the Poor, Aged, and Abandoned in Bauan, Batangas, on April 9, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>JPIA-UBBC designed the event to strengthen community engagement and inspire volunteers to uphold the UB core value of <em>service to fellowmen<\/em>. The program encouraged the elderly to feel loved and cared for through creative and interactive activities while motivating participants to take part in similar socio-civic initiatives that promote empathy, awareness, and social responsibility. The outreach program also aimed to bring joy, love, and care to the elderly residents while advancing SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event gathered 24 JPIAn volunteers and 11 elderly residents, with Ms. Katrina Blanco, CPA; Ms. Earviness Due\u00f1as, CPA; and Mr. Clieford Perez, MBM, CPA, serving as chaperones. Prior to the outreach activity, the volunteers held a virtual meeting on April 8, 2025, to finalize plans, delegate tasks, and review their duties in attending to the elderly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the event day, the volunteers departed the University of Batangas at 8:00 AM and arrived at the foundation at 8:35 AM. The program opened with a prayer led by Ms. Shanelle Gelera, followed by welcome remarks from JPIA-UBBC President Ms. Rhenzy Coronel. Volunteers then introduced the elderly residents, affectionately called <em>Lolas<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The day\u2019s activities began with a painting session, where participants guided the <em>Lolas<\/em> in creating artwork that expressed their creativity and emotions. The group then played Bingo, sparking laughter and excitement while keeping minds active and engaged. Afterward, Ms. Farrell Banuelos led a lively sing-along, uniting volunteers and Lolas through music and joy. Lunch followed, and Mr. John Michael Rendoque delivered the closing remarks before the JPIAns bid farewell at noon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event achieved its mission of spreading warmth and compassion. The <em>Lolas<\/em> expressed happiness and gratitude, while the volunteers found fulfillment in giving back to the community.
