{"id":5975,"date":"2025-10-29T10:33:31","date_gmt":"2025-10-29T02:33:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web2.ub.edu.ph\/ubbc\/?p=5975"},"modified":"2025-11-03T11:07:44","modified_gmt":"2025-11-03T03:07:44","slug":"rising-victors-ub-bsme-students-champion-the-15th-psme-students-national-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web2.ub.edu.ph\/ubbc\/rising-victors-ub-bsme-students-champion-the-15th-psme-students-national-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Rising Victors: UB BSME students champion the 15th PSME Students\u2019 National Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Gear up \u2013 the University of Batangas (UB) Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) students dominated the <em>15th Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) Students\u2019 National Conference <\/em>held on October 18, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center, Manila.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winning streak began with Mr. Christian Lee Gutierrez, a 3rd Year BSME student, who emerged as Champion in the <em>PSME National Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Competition<\/em> under the mentorship of Engr. Gilbert Mendoza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the limited preparation time and a demanding academic schedule, Gutierrez remained determined and resilient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe competition was fast approaching, and the midterms week added extra pressure. I tried to juggle everything and persevere despite the challenges,\u201d shared Gutierrez, recalling his mindset during the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll admit my preparation wasn\u2019t perfect, but I kept my confidence intact\u2013and that, I believe, helped me secure the championship title,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gutierrez expressed his gratitude to his mentors for giving him the opportunity to compete despite starting his ME journey with zero CAD experience. He credited their trust and guidance for his growth as a driven third-year student.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the UB team for the PSME National Research Competition earned the 1st Runner-Up title. Ms. Rhiyane Ashley Cueto represented her team composed of Mr. Bien Paolo Dinglasan, Mr. Aaron Cedric Aala, Ms. Kathleen Bacsa, and Mr. Vladimir Abe. Their adviser, Engr. Paoulo H. De Vega, together with their coaches Engr. Paul Bryan Amagon and Dr. Marizen Contreras, guided them throughout the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adding to the list of achievements, Bien Paolo Dinglasan, Kimberly Barcelona, Jhimvien Andrei Matthew Andino, Christian Joshua De Alva, and Yzhobella Rhuela Mhari Contreras claimed the 2nd Runner-Up title in the PSME National Quiz Show, also under the coaching of Engr. De Vega.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the competitions, the College of Engineering (CENG) coaches continuously reminded their students to stay grounded and focused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe always tell them to study what they can handle,\u201d&nbsp; said Engr.
