{"id":5961,"date":"2025-10-23T14:24:27","date_gmt":"2025-10-23T06:24:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web2.ub.edu.ph\/ubbc\/?p=5961"},"modified":"2025-10-28T14:37:15","modified_gmt":"2025-10-28T06:37:15","slug":"ub-dream-schoolers-turn-pages-into-awards-at-readers-cup-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web2.ub.edu.ph\/ubbc\/ub-dream-schoolers-turn-pages-into-awards-at-readers-cup-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"UB Dream Schoolers turn pages into awards at Readers Cup 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Reading is rewarding \u2013 the University of Batangas (UB) Junior High School (JHS) and Senior High School (SHS) Departments earned multiple awards at the <em>Readers Cup 2025<\/em> held<em> <\/em>at Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria on October 15, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In recognition of their commitment to fostering a culture of reading, UB SHS Department reaped remarkable achievements, winning 1st Place in the Reading Pro Award for Senior High School, Highest Reading Proficiency Award for Senior High School, Highest Lexile Growth Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SHS Principal Dr. Augusto Africa, Assistant Principal Mrs. Shiela A. Aguba, and Substitute of the Languages Department Mrs. Jocelyn Quiddam received the trophies on behalf of the department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe always encourage our students to read books,\u201d said Mrs. Quiddam. \u201cWhen we are assessing our students\u2019 reading ability, it always comes out that they are beyond qualified,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adding to UB\u2019s literary triumphs, the UB JHS Department secured 3rd Place in the Reading Pro Award for Junior High School. JHS Principal Hilaria Guico, JHS Assistant Principal Mr. Michael Justin C. De Mesa, and Faculty Member Ms. Ne\u00f1a Angel C.
