The Laguna State Polytechnic University – Sta. Cruz Campus was electrified as the University of Batangas (UB) Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) students dominated the 20th Regional Student Conference (RSCon) competitions held from October 9 to 11, 2025.
In the 24th Regional Math Wizard, BSEE students Robert Nicolos Maneja, Marzha Mendoza, Jhay Phee Magsisi, Niño Richard Gloriane, and Kyle Princess Caraig emerged as champions under the guidance of College of Engineering (CENG) Dean Dr. Henry I. Cabatay, BSEE Program Head Engr. Jermhel Solis, Engr. Mark Paolo Abag, Engr. Aljohn Escalona, and Engr. Caryl Renton Aguila.
The team credited their camaraderie and team spirit for their success.
“Whenever we made mistakes, we lifted each other’s spirit,” the team shared.
The winning streak continued as BSEE students Robert Nicolos Maneja, Mark Jelo Macatangay, Jhay Phee Magsisi, Mikylla Noreen Ilag, and John Lawrence Palma captured the championship title in the 38th Regional Quiz Show. The team was guided under the excellence of Engr. Solis.
In this team, they entered the competition with determination and faith.
“Since this is our last run to nationals, we committed to giving our best, and whatever the outcome, we will stay grateful,” said the team. They added, “We offered everything to the Lord and followed our mindset: calm, composed, don’t be complacent.”
Meanwhile, the team of John Lawrence Sibobo, Kevin Velasquez, Delan Cantos, Albert Panganiban, and Aldrian Gomez, all BSEE students, secured 1st Runner-Up in the Wiring Skills Competition under the coaching of Engr. Jim Villanobos, PEE, and Engr. Melchor Barcenas.
The Integrated Electrical Engineers (IIEE) organized the 20th Regional Student Conference (RSCon) with the theme of “Eternal Legacy, Infinite Horizons”, featuring 35 participating schools from the Southern Luzon region.
