The University of Batangas (UB) achieved a 100% passing rate in the Librarians Computer-Based Licensure Examination (LLE) after its two Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) graduates, Mr. Jumel Almeniana and Ms. Hannah Mendonez, successfully passed the exam held on September 4–5, 2025 in Lucena City.

Following in the footsteps of his brother, who passed the LLE in 2018, Mr. Almeniana shared his dedication to earning his license: “I gathered all my notes and reviewers. I borrowed materials from acquaintances who previously passed the exam and received additional reviewers from my professors in this course,” he said.

To strengthen his preparation, he also enrolled in the Philippine Association of Teachers of Library and Information Science (PTLS) review center, dedicating two months of focused study.

Ms. Mendonez, on the other hand, joined the LIS Refresher Program and committed to a rigorous six-month schedule. She studied at 1 a.m. daily, devoting 10 to 12 hours to reviewing and answering mock tests. “During the exam, I kept in mind that I was well-prepared and had done my best in reviewing,” she shared.

Both passers credited their success to God, dedicating their achievement to His guidance and wisdom, which strengthened them from preparation until exam day.

The national passing percentage for the LLE stood at 68.44%, underscoring the exceptional performance of UB’s BLIS graduates.
