The PCS Information and Computing Accreditation Board (PICAB) granted an extended accreditation status to the University of Batangas’ (UB) Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) under the College of Information and Communications Technology (CICT) on September 4, 2025.
Mr. Rene Magpantay, the Program Head of the Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, emphasized the department’s thorough preparation for the accreditation—from enhancing laboratories to ensuring student readiness.
He also commended the attentiveness and active involvement of UB administrators, CICT faculty members, and students, all playing a vital role in achieving the milestone. The department focused on strengthening key areas highlighted during PICAB’s interim visit.
PICAB conferred the extension of accreditation status of the BSIT program until June 2029, reaffirming UB’s commitment to delivering quality education in the field of information and communications technology.
