The University of Batangas (UB) strengthened its role in regional workforce development after its Student Affairs & External Programs (SAEP) Office received multiple recognitions during the DOLE & PESO Performance Assessment and Planning Exercises for Fiscal Year 2025, affirming the university’s impact beyond academic instruction and into employment facilitation on January 14, 2026 at NU Lipa.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Public Employment Service Office (PESO) recognized UB as a High Performing Job Placement Office in CALABARZON, citing its excellence in the delivery of career development support programs, provision of labor market information, referral and placement, and implementation of the most number of DOLE programs. UB also earned distinction as Champion in the Utilization of the Public Employment and Information System (PEIS).
“These recognitions reflect an institution-wide culture of excellence, strategic alignment, and deep community commitment,” said Vincent M. Alcantara, SAEP Officer of the University of Batangas – Batangas Campus. “They demonstrate how the university’s mission extends beyond academics into tangible, life-changing outcomes for our graduates and the region, where education, career development, and industry engagement converge to meet evolving labor market demands.”
Alcantara added that the awards underscore UB’s role as a vital partner in regional development, highlighting the SAEP’s operational excellence in employment facilitation, innovation in service delivery, and compliance with national performance standards. He credited the achievement to the collaborative efforts of the university administration and the academic and administrative departments whose sustained support enables the office to fully deliver its mandate to serve students.
By strengthening employment facilitation, expanding access to labor market information, and maximizing government employment systems, the University of Batangas reinforces its commitment to inclusive growth and community development – advancing United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education through career-ready graduates and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by promoting productive employment and workforce sustainability in Batangas and the wider CALABARZON region.
