The University of Batangas (UB) posted strong performances in the Guangdong – Hong Kong – Macao Greater Bay Area Mathematical Olympiad (Big Bay Bei) Heat Round under the Math Olympiads Training League Incorporated (MOTLI) held on November 23, 2025.
UB learners from the Grade School, Junior High School (JHS), and Senior High School (SHS) divisions earned top distinctions, demonstrating academic rigor and exceptional problem-solving abilities.
UB Grade School pupils led the delegation with nine First Prize finishes. Luis Marcus Baril, Queen Elizabeth Tumaliuan, Yani Cueto, Caidan Drael Villanueva, Arabella Vernisse De Gracia, Roven Caian De La Roca, Alisha Sofia Panopio, Simon James Judiel Gutierrez, and Zhaira Margaret Manalo delivered outstanding results and strengthened UB’s reputation in foundational mathematics excellence.
JHS students followed with notable achievements. Shawqi Yousef A. Evangelista (G9 – Avogadro), Shiekha Ayesha J. Cago (G10 – Archimedes), and Keziah Abigail M. Adora (G10 – Catapang) secured First Prize honors, while Reizo Mikael L. Adorable (G9 – Avogadro) earned the Silver Prize for his strong performance.
SHS competitors also made their mark in the regional mathematics landscape. Dan Yro C. Manalo and Jazpher C. Shi captured Second Prize awards, while Gio Drexler A. Serrano achieved Third Prize recognition. Jose Marco Angelo V. Velasco received a Merit Award for demonstrating commendable analytical skills.
UB’s success in the Big Bay Bei Heat Round reinforces its commitment to cultivating academic excellence and fostering talent across disciplines.
