A Grade School student from the University of Batangas (UB) delivered a standout performance at the Caballero De Ajedez Chess Cup, held on November 22, 2025, at Xentro Mall in Batangas City.
Jedeiah Guen Zaraspe, a Grade 6 – Whang-Od learner, captured the Top Elementary Girl Award after outmaneuvering strong competitors and demonstrating strategic precision, focus, and composure across multiple rounds of play.
Zaraspe competed under the guidance of Coach Aguido Ebreo, whose mentorship strengthened her analytical skills and competitive readiness. Her achievement reflected UB’s continued commitment to developing young learners through academic and co-curricular excellence.
The milestone advanced United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, as it highlighted the role of critical thinking, problem-solving, and inclusive learning opportunities in shaping globally competitive students.
