The University of Batangas (UB) Counseling & Psychological Wellness Center (CoPWell) organized a Parenting Talk titled “An Ally for Emotionally Healthy Child” on August 24, 2023, at the UB Culture and Arts Building from 9:00 AM to 12:00 NN.

The program encouraged parents to communicate effectively, practice positive discipline, develop their children’s emotional intelligence, and create supportive home environments. Through these discussions, the university reinforced its commitment to holistic child development and family wellness.

The program opened with an invocation and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. Dr. Gladiola Eje-Dimaculangan, Head of the Guidance Counseling, Health Office, and Graduate School Program, delivered the welcome remarks, while Mrs. Lily Marlene Hernandez-Bohn, Executive Vice President, inspired the audience with her message.

Dr. Hannah Ericka M. Andal served as the event’s resource speaker. She delivered two key discussions: “Supporting Child’s Holistic Well-being” and “Orientation of Mental Health Services.” During the open forum, she answered parents’ questions and provided practical advice on supporting children’s emotional growth.

The organizers awarded certificates to the speaker and participants and held a photo session to commemorate the event. Dr. Olive M. Calingan, Assistant Officer of the Counseling and Psychological Wellness Center, concluded the program with her closing remarks.

Before leaving, participants evaluated the program and received updates on future activities. The event successfully empowered parents to build emotionally healthy homes and strengthened UB’s advocacy for mental health and family support within the community.
