The University of Batangas (UB) College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), together with the 4th Yar Bachelor of Arts in Communication (AB COMM) launched Your COMMpanion: AD-Alt on November 13, 2023.

Your COMMpanion: AD-Alt explored the realities of “adulting” through the stories of young adults from the UB community. Each episode tackled challenges, lessons, and triumphs that come with managing responsibilities, building relationships, finding balance, and discovering one’s purpose. The campaign connected and inspired students by reminding them that no one faces adulthood alone.

Mr. Edward Lontoc hosted the interview session, engaging three inspiring members of the UB community in a conversation about growth and resilience. Mr. Norvine Quinag, a 27-year-old faculty member and Social Media Coordinator from the Corporate Communications Office, shared a perspective inspired by Charles Darwin’s words: “It’s not always the strongest nor the smartest who can survive but those who are most adaptable to change.” He reflected on recognizing adulthood and emphasized living by the principle, “Quality over quantity always. Period.”

Ms. Daisy Ilagan, an AB Communication graduate and member of the UB academic community, encouraged students to value genuine friendships and reassured them with the words, “You will get there.” Meanwhile, Mr. Julius Lepran, a faculty member from the College of Arts and Sciences, highlighted that success included pursuing passions even when career paths differ from expectations. Their insights in #AdulThink inspired viewers to embrace adaptability, self-awareness, and purpose throughout their adulting journey.

The campaign also featured inspiring quotations and anecdotes from professionals across industries. In addition, the AdulTea Seminar brought together young entrepreneurs Ms. Mikaela Rae Panganiban, owner of Kokiri Bakery, and Ms. Arnina Tingchuy, owner of Local Vission, who shared their entrepreneurial experiences and advice for aspiring professionals.

Through Your COMMpanion: AD-Alt, the College of Arts and Sciences continued to foster holistic development among students. By promoting meaningful dialogue, emotional resilience, and lifelong learning,  it strengthened the university’s commitment to SDG 3 and SDG 4—empowering its community to grow with purpose, confidence, and compassion.
