UB Brahmans shine at 4th Mayor Ruffy Biazon Swim Cup

The University of Batangas (UB) Brahmans swimmer team delivered a strong performance at the 4th Mayor Ruffy Biazon Swim Cup, held on December 6, 2025, at the Muntinlupa Aquatic Center.

UB swimmers secured multiple podium finishes across individual and relay events, demonstrating technical skill, discipline, and competitive excellence against swimmers from various institutions.

Maria Ysabelle Kassandra E. Acosta led the UB delegation after winning the gold medal in the 100m Backstroke (B). She also earned silver medals in the 100m Freestyle (B) and 50m Breaststroke (B), and a bronze medal in the 4x50m Mixed Medley Relay. Her outstanding performance earned her the Most Outstanding Swimmer award in the 15–16 Girls age category.

Marianne A. Lopez dominated the senior division events, capturing gold medals in the 100m Backstroke (A), Freestyle (A), and 50m Breaststroke (A). She also contributed to the team’s bronze medal finish in the 4x50m Mixed Medley Relay.

Filip Murcielago Adventure G. Solares added to UB’s medal tally by winning the gold medal in the 100m Backstroke (A) and securing a bronze medal in the 4x50m Mixed Medley Relay.

UB’s achievements in the competition highlight the university’s continuous investment in athletic development and competitive training. The performance supports Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by promoting physical fitness and active lifestyles, and Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by advancing holistic student development through sports.

Through consistent participation and strong results in national swimming competitions, the University of Batangas continues to cultivate excellence, discipline, and resilience among its student-athletes.
