‘PADAYON’ marks milestone for UBLC psychology students

The Guild of Aspiring Psychologists (GAPsy) hosted the second pinning event for the UBLC Psychology program, “PADAYON: Marking a Milestone as Mental Health Advocates.” Held from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the ceremony formally illuminated the path of accomplished 4th Year BS Psychology students, recognizing their hard work, resilience, and commitment to the field.

The ceremony specifically aimed to promote mental health awareness and recognize future professionals committed to supporting emotional and psychological well-being. By celebrating the students’ achievements and encouraging their perseverance, the event reinforced the pursuit of initiatives that align with the goals of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-Being.

The activity included welcoming remarks from Dr. Jerson L. Marino, the UBLC BS Psychology Program Head and an inspirational message from Dean Minerva A. Chavez, the Dean of the College of Education, Arts, and Sciences. 

A candlelighting ceremony led directly into the pinning ceremony that highlighted the event. Certificates were also presented to the GAPsy officers, and special recognition was also given to alumni, board passers, and partner organizations.The event served to honor the students’ dedication and reminded them of their purpose as future mental health advocates. 

The celebration concluded with the closing remarks, a prayer, and a fellowship meal.
