The University of Batangas (UB) Grade School earned Level II Accreditation Status on November 18, 2025, marking a significant milestone in the university’s commitment to quality basic education and early childhood development.

The accreditation recognizes UB Grade School’s compliance with national standards in Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD), a mandatory accreditation process in the Philippines for daycare centers and early learning service providers. The ECCD Council, in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), leads the evaluation to ensure that institutions deliver safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate education for children aged 0 to 4 years.

UB Grade School met the required benchmarks in health and safety, curriculum implementation, staff qualifications, and institutional management. The assessment also evaluated child development outcomes using established tools such as the ECCD Checklist, which measures cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth. By achieving Level II status, UB demonstrated competence beyond minimum standards and affirmed its readiness to provide high-quality early childhood education.

The accreditation strengthens UB’s role in professionalizing early childhood education through continuous teacher training, skills development, and adherence to nationally recognized standards. It also reinforces the university’s long-term investment in building a strong educational foundation for young learners, ensuring that children receive proper care and learning support during their most critical developmental years.

This achievement directly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), by promoting inclusive and equitable early education, and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), by upholding standards that protect children’s safety, health, and overall well-being.

Through this milestone, UB Grade School continues to uphold its mission of delivering excellence in education while contributing to national efforts to strengthen early childhood care and development in the Philippines.
