The Association of Legal Management Majors (ALMMa) of the University of Batangas (UB) College of Arts and Sciences conducted the “ALMMalasakit Outreach Program” in partnership with Barangay Wawa officials on November 2, 2024. The initiative aimed to educate residents about the Safe Spaces Act or Republic Act No. 11313, while extending assistance through a community donation drive.
The event featured an informational seminar on the “Bawal Bastos Law”, alongside the distribution of food packs and school supplies to local families.
Daniel De Andrade Zaragoza of LM 4-1 led the educational discussion with the support of Atty. Jonathan Paolo Dimaano and student volunteers. The seminar highlighted the importance of creating safe spaces and empowering individuals to recognize, prevent, and report acts of harassment.
Organizers noted that participants were highly engaged during the session, showing greater awareness of their rights and responsibilities under the law.
After the seminar, ALMMa members distributed food and school supplies to children and families in the community.
According to the organization, the outreach program served a dual purpose: promoting legal literacy and providing tangible support to residents. The initiative also supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on gender equality, quality education, and justice.
