The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers – University of Batangas Student Chapter (PICE-UBSC) successfully organized an outreach program at Tinga Itaas Elementary School on Thursday, December 19, 2024, providing gift packages to 318 students.
The initiative, aptly named Padaloy: Hatid na Pag-asa at Pagbibigay, aimed to extend support to pupils from Grades 1 to 6 and cultivate a culture of community service among the university’s engineering students.
The outreach effort was a collaborative success, driven by PICE-UBSC officers, led by President Charmaine Mañibo, and its members, with strategic guidance from faculty adviser Engr. Neil Graham Bhel Garcia. The organization worked in close coordination with the faculty and administration of Tinga Itaas Elementary School to ensure the smooth distribution of the gifts.
The event featured a short program where PICE-UBSC volunteers interacted with the students. According to the organization, the primary goal of the initiative was to bring joy to the children and reaffirm the chapter’s commitment to social responsibility within the community.
